Tim Steinfort - We Have Angered The Gods

Randale Records

Release-wise 2015 has been quite busy for Discharger front man Tim Steinfort. Not only did his solo-debut “When The Rain Falls” saw the light of day, the fifth Discharger album “Until We Die” was also released by the end of 2015, just like his second solo-release, “We Have Angered The Gods”. Again released by Randale Records, Steinfort’s second solo-album was released last December and features fifteen more, semi-acoustic anthems from Dutch soil.

But just like as “When The Rain Falls” was already recorded by the end of 2012 (and initially self-released sometime after that), some of the tracks on “We Have Angered The Gods” popped up online already throughout the years, like “Jake The Slugger”, “Dear God” and “Talking To A Soldier”. But even if you stroll around on YouTube 24/7, Steinfort’s sophomore album still holds plenty of unheard, acoustic diamonds in the rough, for the fans of this type of ‘streetfolk’!

Because although most of the lyrics on “We Have Angered The Gods” are telling a story and perhaps get a bit more personal as well, a good batch of them could easily translate into a Discharger song as well. So despite that tracks like “I’ve Been Thinking”, “Story Of Jeffrey Jones” (my absolute favorite of the album), “We Have Angered The Gods” and “Change The Establishment” (featuring Vlad The Bulldog) are unplugged, they still have the same amount of heart, power and impact as any given Discharger song of, namely, the last two albums.

So if you are into Discharger and you don’t mind some acoustic work, you will probably get into Tim Steinfort’s solo-work quite easy and albums like his debut “When The Rain Falls” and his latest “We Have Angered The Gods” are definitely CD’s you need to check out.
