The Generators – Broken Stars & Crooked Stripes

Randale Records

Burning ambitions for over 20 years, Los Angeles’ punk rockers The Generators are still killing it with every release they put out! Following up 2014’s album “Life Gives... Life Takes”, the band recently added their tenth(!) full-length to their discography in the form of “Broken Stars & Crooked Stripes”. So get ready... set... and go! Because it’s time to get generated once again, thanks to Randale Records!

On “Broken Stars & Crooked Stripes” you’ll find nine, or eleven if you missed out on last year’s ‘taster’ – the “Street Justice” 45, all new tracks of The Generators in an excellent form! Because even after 20+ years, founding members Doug Kane (vocals) and Mike Snow (guitar) still sound as energetic and as powerful as ever before.

Thanks to that rock ‘n’ roll-ish piano in “Back On The Job”, the explosiveness of “The Legend Of Gary Pogo”, that dangerously sounding “Street Justice” and the heartfelt finale “Heartbreaks & Earthquakes”, The Generators definitely delivered some of their best work of the past decade. The superb melodies and boisterous sing-alongs in combination with Doug’s significant – but great – voice, make sure this is yet another genuine The Generators album, while it also proves why The Generators are still one of my favorite, still active punk rock bands!

Since “Life Gives... Life Takes”, the past four years only gave us a handful of new tracks (through their split 10” with Crashed Out, the “Earn Your Stripes” compilation and the aforementioned ‘taster’) – making “Broken Stars & Crooked Stripes” a welcoming addition, fans of the band can pick up without any hesitation.
