East End Chaos – Robin Hood

Steeltown Records / Contra Records

In 2016 East End Chaos debuted with the self-released ‘demo’-CD “An All Die Leute”, a solid debut – though it needed some tweaking here and there. Nearly two and a half years and a lot of tweaking later, the East Germans have returned with the “Robin Hood” EP, East End Chaos’ vinyl debut for Steeltown Records and Contra Records!

Delivering a total of four, all new songs, East End Chaos brings some more of that fierce yet melodic, Oi!-influenced punk rock to the table. Much alike the first five songs from the aforementioned “An All Die Leute” – only better! Along with the clear, raspy vocals of front man Schirdi, the boys from Löbau released a good, fun selection of songs to push, shove, pogo and sing-along to, though song-titles like “United”, “Kids”, “Robin Hood” and “Unsre Szene” (“Our Scene”) don’t really leave much to the imagination.

Then again, who cares? Half the world wouldn’t understand the lyrics anyway. Because despite that titles like “United” and “Kids” might suggest otherwise, all on “Robin Hood” is sung auf Deutsch – just the way I like it!

Now I haven’t read much about this release anywhere and truth be told, my review is a little late as well. But if you like your streetpunk in German, you will most likely enjoy East End Chaos’ first release on vinyl as well! Limited to 300 copies, divided over 200 black copies, 50 marbled copies and 50 blue copies – with the latter only available through the band.
